Description

I wanted to make a little something out of my daughter's baby clothes instead of just throwing them away. This heart shaped rag wreath is just perfect for a little girl's room and it's full of memories...

Instructions

  1. Small 102505 2f2014 06 11 195243 hanger1

Take a wire coat hanger and pull it down in the centre, forming a point. (Stages 1 to 3 can all be done by hand without the use of pliers.)

  2. Small 102505 2f2014 06 11 195311 hanger2

Smooth out the two side corners.

  3. Small 102505 2f2014 06 11 195333 hanger3

Bring the top sides up to form the top curves of the heart.

  4. Small 102505 2f2014 06 11 195348 hanger4

Loop the hook around to form a circle - you may or may not need pliers for this part, depending on how strong you are!

  5. Small 102505 2f2014 06 11 195403 hanger5

Wrap garden twine around the hook part of the hanger. This holds it together and seals in the sharp edges of the wire. One wire coat hanger in the shape of a heart!

  6. Small 102505 2f2014 06 11 201253 wreath%2bwith%2blightscg3

With pinking shears, cut strips of old baby clothes that are about 3cm by 17cm. Keep knotting the strips onto the wreath, evenly spacing the different coloured strips around the wire heart until it is completely full with no room for any more.

You may want to finish it off with some battery powered fairy lights for that extra girlie touch. For more information, please check out my blog.
