This throw is so soft to the touch and enjoyable to make that you will be putting one in every room! You can layer them and vary the sizes, motifs and colours. Have fun!
If you have not already done so, cut two rectangles 70cm × 1.1m (271⁄2 × 43in) from the two fabrics. Place the two fabrics right sides together. Pin and tack. Remove the pins.
Machine sew three sides by using straight stitch. On the fourth side, leave an opening of 20cm (8in) for turning out. Oversew the rectangles using zigzag stitch.
Snip the corners. Turn the throw right side out. Slip the cotton fleece inside. Close up the last side either by machine or by hand using small, invisible stitches.
Evenly pin the whole surface of the throw. Quilt to hold in place using large stitches, diagonally and crosswise.
Using tailor’s chalk, draw around the stars on to the throw. • Sew on the shapes by machine. Push the threads inside using a needle. Pull the threads free between the two layers of fabric, knot them and then cut the threads.
