Q Tip Flowers

At first glance, no one would believe that you made these beautiful flowers out of q-tips! It's so easy and fun to do.

When I spotted some giant flowers made out of q-tips at Anthroplogie a few years ago I knew I needed to make my own smaller version. This project is the most popular one on my blog and is great for both kids and adults! Make some to add some festive decor for a party or just to cheer up your home.

Description

When I spotted some giant flowers made out of q-tips at Anthroplogie a few years ago I knew I needed to make my own smaller version. This project is the most popular one on my blog and is great for both kids and adults! Make some to add some festive decor for a party or just to cheer up your home.

Instructions

  1. Small 106763 2f2015 01 13 010335 qtips4

Gather your materials. You will need a lot of q-tips. Like, when you think you have enough, go get more. You can use food coloring of any color, fake flowers (just for the stems), styrofoam balls and scissors.

  2. Small 106763 2f2015 01 13 010446 qtip3

Cut the top and bottom ends of the q-tips. Discard the center.

  3. Small 106763 2f2015 01 13 010516 qtips7

Simply begin inserting the q-tips into the styrofoam balls.

  4. Small 106763 2f2015 01 13 010540 qtips6

Continue to add q-tips until the ball is completely filled.

  5. Small 106763 2f2015 01 13 010625 qtip2

Mix food coloring with water and roll the ball in the colored water until the q-tips are saturated. Let it dry. When completely dry, cut the stem off of a flower and insert it in the styrofoam ball.
