Perfect for stashing stuff!
Ok, so in my room redevelopment (by the way I'm not moving out imminently, just doing a few bits and pieces to match and jazz things up a bit) I decided to redevelop myself a bit. As I'm now wearing more make-up I'm needing somewhere to stash my make-up sponges. So I found an old plastic pot I don't need any more and I was going to throw away. I've upcycled it to create this fabulous make-up sponge pot.

I've show several photos from different angles to show the different colours of card I have used. I originally wanted to use one colour around the outside but the plastic pot wasn't straight up and down at the sides. Henceforth the card wouldn't go where I wanted it to. So I used all my colours and cut them into roughly same sized pieces to stick around the outside of the pot. I used double sided sticky tape for this and it seems to have worked (so far). Using silver card, pink textured card, two differing shades of purple card, a 1" circle punch and a 1" flower punch to create the embellishments to cover the joins a bit. I finished them off with a pearl or diamanté in the centre of each one before glueing them on with more double sided sticky tape.
The following day the flower embellishments where beginning to peel off, so I removed them (VERY carefully) and glued them back on with a hot glue gun. To be honest, I wish I'd done it that way in the first place.

So now it has it's home on my dressing table next to all my other make-up bits and pieces. I'm dead chuffed with it :-D
