Instructions

  1. Small 2021 07 20 121046 img 5113

Stretch the canvas over the embroidery hoop and reproduce the design on the front of the canvas. Reproduce the elements to be in relief on the back of the canvas. Thread the punch needle with black yarn.

  2. Small 2021 07 20 121102 img 5120

Insert the needle in the corner of one eye and pull the thread through on the back, leaving a tail of around 3cm (11⁄4in). Work the first eye. Once finished, leave the needle in the canvas and turn the hoop over. Remove the tip of the needle and cut the thread, leaving about 3cm (11⁄4in). Work the other eye and insides of the ears.

  3. Small 2021 07 20 121200 img 5121

Turn the hoop over to the back and fill the nose in black.

  4. Small 2021 07 20 121217 img 5123

Turn the hoop over to the front and cut the nose loops using the scissors to create a fluffy effect.

  5. Small 2021 07 20 121233 img 5144

Thread the white yarn and fill in the eye area and the mouth on the front of the canvas.

  6. Small 2021 07 20 121243 img 5146

Turn the hoop over to the back and fill in the muzzle and the cheeks in white.

  7. Small 2021 07 20 121341 img 5150

On the front, cut the loops of the cheeks using the scissors.

  8. Small 2021 07 20 121910 img 5175

Fill in the white edges of the ears on the back of the canvas, then cut the loops on the front.

  9. Small 2021 07 20 122036 img 5178

Thread the red yarn, turn over to the back side of the canvas and fill in the head, working from the outside to the inside.

  10. Small 2021 07 20 122105 img 5193

Fill in the tops of the ears in red on the back side of the canvas. The red panda’s face is complete.

  11. Small 2021 07 20 122128 img 5196

Using the inner ring of the decorative hoop, draw a circle around the red panda’s head with an erasable pen. Thread the beige yarn and fill in the background of the design, starting with the outline and working from the outside to the inside.

  12. Small 2021 07 20 122148 img 5213

Thread the black DK yarn and add whiskers by inserting the needle on the front side. Cut the thread that comes out on the back side and repeat for the other whiskers.

  13. Small 2021 07 20 122154 img 5397

Once finished, remove the canvas from the embroidery hoop and fit it on the decorative hoop.
