North Carolina inspired pulled "pork" and slaw burgers!

The smokey and sweet combination of The Bay Tree's Smokey Chipotle bbq sauce worked perfectly for recreated the flavours of a North Carolina inspired pulled pork burger. And substituting real pork for seitan makes a burger that everyone can enjoy!

You Will Need (11 things)

  • 200 g Seitan
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Smokey Chipotle Bbq Sauce from The Bay Tree
  • 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • Half a can Root Beer or cola
  • 1 cup Coleslaw
  • 2 Toasted burger Buns
  • 1 stick Celery , sliced to serve

Steps (11 steps, 25 minutes)

    Begin by shredding the seitan with a fork.

    Heat in a frying pan with a little oil.

  3. 3

    Season with salt, pepper, garlic and mustard powder.

  4. 4

    Add a generous glug of Smokey Chipotle bbq sauce.

    Add some liquid smoke.

  6. 6

    Add half a can of root beer.

  7. 7

    Leave to sizzle down into a thick sticky sauce.

    Stir in the coleslaw just before serving.

    Serve on a toasted burger bun.

    Top with celery.
