Help me, Obi Wan Kanobi. You're my only hope.
So, my Rocky Horror Picture Show cast here at Virginia Tech always likes to do themed performances of the show to keep things interesting. This year, we chose to do a Sci-Fi themed performance (much to my zeal!) so I decided that since I was playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter, I wanted to be Princess Leia. This is the Senatorial gown from A New Hope. I made it myself without a pattern. And I'm extremely proud! ^_^ The fabric I used is this really great drapey white polyester blend called Jet-Set, which I bought at Joann Fabrics for $2.50 a yard (sale). The belt is made out of really great stretchy fake leather, which I painted white using acrylic paint. The silver plates on the belt are craft foam painted silver. I haven't posted a picture of the back of the gown yet, but it features a screen accurate hood, which is essentially just a long rectangle of fabric scrunched and sewn at the neckline. My only regret is that my buns weren't big enough.
