Crochet a sweet little dress for your little child fashion doll!
In less than an hour, you can crochet a sweet little dress for a 4 1/2" child fashion doll.

This dress is worked from top-down. You'll start by working in rows for the top half, then you'll switch to rounds for the bottom of the dress.

*Model used: Kelly by Mattel

Abbreviations: USA Terminology Used
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
scinc - single crochet increase (a.k.a. single crochet 2 in next st)
sc2tog - single crochet 2 stitches together (do this by working a sc into the FL of next 2 sts)
st(s) - stitch(es)
sp - space
RS - right side
WS - wrong side
lp(s) - loop(s)
FL - front loop (closest to you)
yo - yarn over
sk - skip
tog - together
rep - repeat
rem - remaining
cont. - continue
f/o - fasten off

Special Stitches:
picot - sc, ch 3, then insert your hook into the v of last sc and down the front of that st, yo, pull all the way though.

(3 / 5 / 7 / 9 / 11) shell - Do 3 (or number called for) dc into 1 st sp. - Eg. 3 shell = 3 dc into 1 st, or 5 shell = 5 dc in 1 st, and so on...

Pattern Notes:
*Odd rows = Right Side of work.
*For all shell rows, each sc will be worked into the sc st from the row before it, and each shell will be worked into the center dc from the shell in the row before it. All other sts between those, will be skipped.
*Shells will get bigger with each row.
*Ignore the 2 sl sts at the end of a round when starting the next one.
