Pop Tart Ipod Case

Mmm, tasty music

I took inspiration from the dozens of other crafty Ipod cases on this site and decided to go with a Pop Tart!

This is for an Ipod Classic, but can work for any MP3 player, just make sure to give yourself enough room to get the player in and out of the sleeve. (Duh!)

The project may take longer than an hour (that's a ball park estimate) depending on how fast you can hand stitch.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • Ruler
  • 1 tan and white Felt
  • 3 pastel colored Thread

Steps (3 steps, 90 minutes)

  1. 1

First, measure out a 10 in x 3 1/2 in strip of tan felt for the "pastry" part.

The Ipod Classic is barely 2 1/2 wide, so add about a other inch for good measure on other MP3 players.

  2. 2

Fold "pastry" in half. I marked 5/8 around to measure where the white felt "icing" will go. Cut out a 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 rectangle of the white felt.

Get at least three pastel colored threads to make the sprinkles. I don't have a picture of this step, but it's pretty easy. Make random, small stitches around the "icing." If you pull on the thread as you go along, it will give a bumpy texture to the fabric, making it look like a real Pop Tart!

  3. 3

After you are done sprinkling the "icing", sew it in place on your "pastry."

This is the time consuming part. I worked on this over a few days, but if you are a pro it should take no time.

Once you have the "icing" on, sew up the sides and the bottom. I used a 1/4 in hem to make sure there was space to get the player in and out.
