For a space-themed children's vacation I made this super easy, but oh so cute little aliens.
First,make a pompom. If you don't know how, here's a tutorial: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/pom_pom (you can use cardboard rings instead of a pompom maker)
Then cut out a heart (or other if you like different feet) shape out of thick paper, make a little hole in it and pull through the string on the pompom you used to tie it together.
Tie a knot and use tape to stick the string on the paper and cut it if it's too long (if it shows if you put the alien on its feet).
Then take 2 of those paper balls you can find in craft stores, put glue on them and push them into the pompom.
Draw the eyes with a marker. The eyes can fall out from time to time, but just glue them back on if they do.
