You Will Need (4 things)

  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
  • Yarn

Steps (7 steps, 15 minutes)

  1. 1

Collect your materials. I would also recommend reading through all of the instructions before you start.

  2. 2

Draw matching circles on the cardboard with smaller inner circles. You can make them as big or as small as you like. Make it easier by drawing around some thing of the right size like the bottom of a jar.
Cut the circles out so you are left with 2 doughnut shaped rings

  3. 3

With both rings together start wrapping your yarn around the rings. I like to unwind the yarn into 10 strand lengths so its easier to fit through the middle hole.

  4. 4

Keep wrapping the yarn evenly until you have a full doughnut.

  5. 5

Carefully cut the yarn at the outer edge of the circle between the 2 cardboard pieces. Once you have cut all the way around take a separate length of yarn (about 20cm) and wrap it between the cardboard rings and tie it as tight as you can. Carefully pull off the rings one at a time.

  6. 6

Your pom pom will probably look quite messy now. Use your scissors to give it a little trim until it's even all over.

  7. 7

Attach it to a hat or anything which is calling out for a little bit of colourful fun!
