Description

So...my family's from Southern China, and I was experimenting making whipped creams with different clay colors....and thought of this after seeing how translucent clay came out! Soy sauce is made from brown watercolors painted after baking! The other thing on the plate is siu maai!

Instructions

  1. Small janet s retirement 113

Take a small amount of light pink and orange polymer clay and mix together

  2. Small janet s retirement 114

Form the mixed clay into a little ball (compared to a penny for reference)

  3. Small janet s retirement 116

Roll out the translucent polymer clay (it helps to have a bit of cornstarch brushed on with a paintbrush to keep it from sticking)

  4. Small janet s retirement 117

Place the ball of colored clay on the rolled out translucent clay

  5. Small janet s retirement 119

Cut out around the ball so you have enough clay to thinly fold over the ball completely (it looks a bit like ravioli now)

  6. Small janet s retirement 120

Roll into a ball, making sure no opaque pink-orange clay is on the outside

  7. Small janet s retirement 121

Use a rounded piece of wire to make markings, as you would with whipped creams

  8. Small janet s retirement 122

It should end up like this

  9. Small janet s retirement 111

Bake according to the instructions on the polymer clay packaging

  10. You can make a bamboo steamer and attach them inside with TLS, or on a plate the same way
