Description

So after make a pokemon your profile pic december on facebook, I decided to make a pillow of a pokeball for one of my friends. Pretty easy to make!

Instructions

  1. Small img 2293 1263018033

Fold the white and red fabric in half. then trace a circle around the fabric, ending up with two red semi circles and two white semicircles. If you somehow ended up with a fold, make sure to cut the semi circles apart.

  2. Small img 2295 1263018161

Using a zigzag stitch, create a flat seam the red and white semicircle together. This doesn't need to be fancy, it's just temporary to keep them together.

  3. Small img 2303 1263018373

Out of the black fabric create two strips, one with a circle in the middle. One will be the front of the pillow, the other the back

  4. Small img 2304 1263018434

Cut a smaller white circle to go in the center of the front black stripe. Before you attach it, trace an even smaller circle on the white circle. Using a small black stitch, stitch over the tracing.

  5. Small img 2305 1263018506

Applique the white circle onto the black circle using a small zigzag stitch. You can then applique the black stripe onto the white and red front. Repeat with the back stripe

  6. Small img 2307 1263018583

Measure the arc length of the white and red parts of the front and back of the pillow. Cut a strip of white and red fabric of this length and whatever width you want the pillow to be. Sew each red end to the white end. Applique black squares over the seams which are the same width as the black stripes used on the front and back.

  7. Small img 2308 1263018718

With right sides together, attach the side panels to the front, matching edge. Snip the seam allowence to make for a better curve. Sew the side panel to the back side, but make sure to leave a little room so you can turn the pillow right side out.

The end result, before being turned out should look like this picture, a front and back with a side panel.

  9. Small img 2311 1263019071

Stuff the pillow with shredded foam. You can use regular stuffing too. Be careful with the shredded foam because it gets everywhere! Use tape or a lint remover to remove excess stuffing.

Hand sew the opening which you left and you are finished!!
