Mandalas to Embroider
French knots and pistil stitches are similar, except for pistil stitches you take the needle through the fabric slightly further away from point A. These are used for stamens and as decorative fillers.

Step 1Bring the thread through the fabric at A. Holding the thread between your thumb and finger, wrap it around the needle two or three times.

Step 2Keeping a good tension of the thread, take the needle down through B and pull the thread through to form a knot with a ‘tail’.
