You Will Need (7 things)

  • Cutting Pliers
  • Scissors
  • 3 ½ cm square Patterened Paper
  • 2 Sewing Pins
  • 1 Toothpick
  • Pliers
  • Ruler

Steps (8 steps, 25 minutes)

  1. 1

These are the material and the tools you'll need to build one pinwheel

  2. 2

    Creating your own tool
You'll need to punch paper and wood. It'll be safer (and less painful)to creat this simple device to help you.
1- Use the pliers to spike a pin in the bottom of a wooden pencil.
2 - Take the pin out, and cut off its head.
3 - Using the pliers spike the pin back by the "blind" side
    4 - This is it

  3. 3

1 - Chose the paper you're going to use, cut it in 3,5cmx3,5cm squares.
2 - Fold (and unfold) them in both diagonals.
3 - Cut from each corner, on the diagonal, a little further the half way to the center of the paper

  4. 4

1 - Use the tool you've created on step 2 to punch the paper right in the middle and on the right border, near the edge of the cut you did on step 4.

  5. 5

Cut the toothpick's tip. And use your punching tool to make a hole on it. You have to be very careful not to crack it.
After the hole is done, pass a pin through it.

  6. 6

Punch two small circles of paper (confetti) and pass the pin through it.
Then put the pinwheel paper through its central hole, and bend each punched tip to the center, passing the pin through each hole.

  7. 7

When all the tips are on the right place, put the second confetti on the top.
Pull all of them down without creasing. Hold the pin with the pliers and bend it down as much as you can, cutting the excess with the cutting pliers.

  8. 8

Move the paper a little upwards from the toothpick and...
    Voilá!

Put it in front of the fan. :o)
