I have many boring old t-shirts that I never use in my wardrobe. I thought I'd spice one up by adding a crocheted collar to it and rolling up the sleeves. Here's how I did it!

Description

I have many boring old t-shirts that I never use in my wardrobe. I thought I'd spice one up by adding a crocheted collar to it and rolling up the sleeves. Here's how I did it!

Instructions

  1. Small 115237 2f2016 10 23 210426 1img 6937 fix

Start by measuring how much of the crocheted ribbon you need to go around the collar in the design you want. I've done a peter pan type of collar. Cut the ribbon to the desired length.

  2. Small 115237 2f2016 10 23 210551 2img 6939 fix

Sew the edges of the ribbon by folding the raw edge over and sewing with needle and thread.

  3. Small 115237 2f2016 10 23 210708 3img 6940 fix

Pin the ribbon to the t-shirt.

  4. Small 115237 2f2016 10 23 210739 4img 6942 fix

Sew the ribbon onto the t-shirt.

  5. Small 115237 2f2016 10 23 210801 5img 6947 fix

Use your scissors and cut away the excess fabric. You want the neckline to be where the ribbon is sewn on. But be careful not to cut into the stitches that attaches the ribbon to the t-shirt.

  6. Small 115237 2f2016 10 23 210919 6img 6954 fix

Roll up the sleeves, and add a stitch or two if you want it to stay rolled up.

    Enjoy your finished top!
