Description

Instructions

  1. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 124917 img 0254

Trace the outline of your passport on the a piece of paper, leaving a couple of millimetres space around the edges, and cut out for your template.

  2. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125018 img 0255

Use your template to cut out one felt piece for the front of the passport wallet and two 6cm wide edges.

  3. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125125 img 0260

Plan out your passport design on paper and then trace around the templates on to felt, cutting out the pieces in different colours. For this design, I cut out the shapes of the countries I want to travel between, a little plane and a ticket.

  4. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125253 img 0263

Use the sewing machines to embroider your name, or the passengers name on the ticket.

  5. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125332 img 0265

When you're happy with the design, stitch each of the felt pieces in place. You can then stitch freehand on top of each to add a little more design.

  6. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125410 img 0266

Embroider the country names on top of their felt outlines. It's a good idea to practise this on a piece of scrap fabric first to get the placement just right.

  7. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125449 img 0268

Now freehand the route of the plane between the two countries and feel free to do a couple of loop-de-loops along the way.

  8. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125548 img 0278

When you're happy with the design, pin the two side flaps on the back and stitch around the outline.

  9. Small 106321 2f2014 12 17 125623 img 0271

Cut off excess felt from the edges to give it a neat finish and slip your passport inside.
