You Will Need (9 things)

  • (plain) Notebook
  • an assortment Ribbon
  • nice, lovely coloured Button(s)
  • (recommended: Bostik) Glue
  • (optional?) Double Sided Sticky Tape
  • PVA Glue
  • 1 sheet of plain A4 for the last step) White Paper
  • of your choice for the name Embroidery Thread
  • Cross Stitch Fabric

Steps (7 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

I bought a plain brown notebook for £1.50 on a sale in HobbyCraft

(OMG best shop ever, after Fabric Land!)

  2. 2

Then I got together all of my stashes of ribbons (most of them pink, from another project).
(Thankfully this girl likes pink and purple!!)
I measured each one and decided which order I would like to stick them down in.
Then I stuck them down using thin strips of double sided sticky tape

  3. 3

Once they were stuck down, and I was waiting for the glue stuff to dry (I used PVA on some of them because I didn't have enough D-S-S-T left). So I cross-stitched her name (UROOJ) using cross stitching material and thread (coloured for the name and for the plants by the side). You could use paper and draw their name on if you wanted to.

  4. 4

Then I stuck down the cross-stitched name onto the middle of the notebook using sticky tape (double sided).

  5. 5

I then arranged the buttons on the front of the notebook, and swapped and switched different ones until I was happy. (I asked an expert's opinion too...from my mum!)
Haha! Once I was happy with what it looked like, I stuck each button down using a tiny blob of Bostik glue

(the picture isn't what Bostik looks like btw)

  6. 6

Whn the glue had dried, I just stuck a piece of plain paper on the inside part of the brown front cover (to hide any raw edges from the ribbons that had been folded over).

If that didn't make sense, then to make it easier, I uploaded a picture opposite, and where it says 'Field Notes', is where I stuck the paper. On that side. :)

Hope that made sense to you guys!
and I hope you liked the personalised notebook xD

    love ya all,
