This is made with a ham hough so tastes really great. You could also make it with stock cubes but it won't taste as good. It will reduce the cooking time considerably.

You will need

Ham hough Green Lentils Onions Carrot(s) Leeks Turnip Potato

Description

This is made with a ham hough so tastes really great. You could also make it with stock cubes but it won't taste as good. It will reduce the cooking time considerably.

Instructions

1. 

   Cook the ham hough in water for approx 2 1/2-3 hrs.

2. 

   Remove the ham from the stock. Wash & Add the green lentils.

3. 

   Add the chopped vegetables. Simmer & cook until the veg & lentils are cooked & soft.

4. 

   Remove the meat from the bone. Chop up into small pieces. Place back in the pot.

5. 

   Serve hot with crusty bread.
