After making a couple bandana skirts as a custom order I had these perfect circles left over from the center of the bandanas. I decided to go ahead and make matching headbands as a gift for the two little girls with them to wear with their 4th of July outfits!

Description

After making a couple bandana skirts as a custom order I had these perfect circles left over from the center of the bandanas. I decided to go ahead and make matching headbands as a gift for the two little girls with them to wear with their 4th of July outfits!

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting 3 circles of your desired size. Next take a needle and thread and sew a running stitch around the edges of your circle. Pull your thread until your edges pull into each other and meet creating a puff. Tie off your thread To finish off your yoyo sew a button of your choice to the center

  2. After you're finished making all your yoyo sits time to make the band. If you want you can use elastic, a ribbon or a regular hair band. I decided to go with some t-shirt scraps I had braided and sitting in my scrap pile because they were the right color. Determine the size you want to make your headband. I made mine 17" Next sew your two ends of your headband together

  3. Cut 2 pieces of felt for your backing that are of the same size. Using your glue gun glue your yoyos into one of your felt pieces in whatever manner you want. Glue the hairband on to your felt. If you made a hairband out of elastic or t-shirts, hide your seam here. Lastly glue the second felt circle onto the one with your yoyos on, sandwiching your hairband between the two.
