About

Alfredo sauce combines the richness of cream with the tanginess of Parmesan cheese—ingredients that go wonderfully well with pasta. This is a delicious meal that can be rustled up while the rest of the gang put the tents up.

You Will Need (8 things)

  • 450 g Pasta (such as Penne or rigatoni)
  • 60 ml Butter or Margarine
  • 500 ml Sliced Mushroom(s)
  • 125 ml Heavy Cream
  • 250 ml Cooked Ham , cut into thin strips
  • 900 g Boneless, skinless Chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 150 ml grated Parmesan
  • Pepper , to taste

Steps (3 steps, 10 minutes)

  1. 1

    At camp:
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta for 10 minutes, until it is al dente.

  2. 2

In a skillet melt half of the butter over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until brown. Add the cream to the mushrooms and, stirring frequently, add the ham and chicken and heat through.

  3. 3

When the pasta is ready, remove it from the heat, drain, return to the pot, and toss with the remaining butter and the mushroom mixture, stirring it around thoroughly to distribute the ingredients. Serve in large bowls with a sprinkling of Parmesan and lots of black pepper.
