Fist cut out 8 circles of paper, it can be any design or colour. I used a bottom of a glass for a guide with a rough diameter of 3.5" When you've cut them out, fold the in half, then in half again then a third time, you should have 8 segments. Next draw a small circle in the middle, I used a coin (5p).
Next cut each fold to the edge of the circle in the middle you've just drawn.
Now this is the tricky part so I hope it makes sense. With your pencil or a point, roll each segment into a cone shape, gluing the corner as you roll it over.
It should then look like this. Do the same with all your other circles of paper.
Now with a need and embroidery floss, thread each star but with the first from its back and the rest from their front so the design shows all around.

Now pull both ends of the thread tight and tie a knot.
