You can use any type of patterend paper. You can use printer paper or construction paper. The trick was not to become attached the the fresh, crisp edges. I rolled mine up, crinkled them and even tore the edges a bit to get the shapes that I wanted. You can use any sort of food coloring. You could probably even use marker or highlighter ink too. This project is very versatile, so have fun!
