At the moment I am thinking about recycling craft and today I remembered something we made in the kindergarten, where we produced beads with paper and fimo. I think this technique is well known, but I had fun to take pictures while I made the beads ... so here it is ... a small how to or better again walkthrough. What kind of art this gonna be at the end, I don't know ... I think I am gonna make some more beads to finish it.

At the moment I am thinking about recycling craft and today I remembered something we made in the kindergarten, where we produced beads with paper and fimo. I think this technique is well known, but I had fun to take pictures while I made the beads ... so here it is ... a small how to or better again walkthrough. Instructions

  1. Small p1390991

First you gonna need the paper you want to make the beads with. I used an old Donald Duck Comic I found in the garage today. To make it a bit more stable I glued it on another piece of paper and cutted it.

  2. Small p1390993

Now it is time to draw the form you gonna make the beads. It is aways 1 cm on the top and 3 cm on the bottom and changes after every finished piece.

  3. Small p1390995

When you are done, just cut the pieces.

  4. Small p1390999

Now it is time to put the glue on every piece. Here you also can see the spits we are using in Germany to make tasty roulades. You need two, because in this way it is better to fix and hold the future bead.

  5. Small p1400003

Put the prepared piece inbetween the two spits ...

  6. Small p1400004

    ... and roll ...

  7. Small p1400007

... and roll ... and then you are done ... It can be a good method to roll it on a fixed underground or just use your free hand. Watching the pictures you see that I really love glue on my fingers ;)
