You Will Need (4 things)

  • Paper
  • Needle
  • PVA Glue
  • Paint

Steps (16 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

I bought this book in a charity shop for 50p, okay so it's a bit out of date!
And well some of it is good 4 a read.....but most of it will be good for paper beads!

  2. 2

Just look at all the different pages in here waiting to be used!
So much Yummy paper for recycling!

  3. 3

Once I have removed a page from the book I splice it up in2 strips of about 2cms on my paper cutter!
    Quick and simple.....

  4. 4

Roll up the paper strip on a large needle, I try to keep the paper very tight so the paper isn't squishie!
And the bead is very soiled even at this point!

  5. 5

Once rolled up put a small amount of glue on the end and press down the end, so that the paper strip doesn't unroll!
Sometimes I tear the end off to keep some of the paper that has a picture on to form a patten!
    Keep hold tight.....

  6. 6

And there you go one tightly rolled paper bead...
But I don't like making to many long thin ones I try something different every-time!

  7. 7

These are my bent metal rods I made to put the beads on when I have rolled them up (I did make more than 2 in fact...well just roll on down with me!)

  8. 8

Here's another page from the book with tram-lines drawn on and then other lines are drawn inbetween like elongated triangles.

  9. 9

Just a better view of the last page. I also like to cut these triangles out with scissors rather than my paper-cuttter...I don't know why but I do!
I told you it was an obsession way back at the top!

  10. 10

Here's me being clever rolling four strips at once! It make the bead fatter, but need some practice!(Which I have been doing for yonks!)

  11. 11

Tear off three of the ends of the strips of triangle when you get near the end an with the one left put on a small amount of glue.
I use PVA and I get really messy (which I don't mind)because I hold it down until it is really stuck!

  12. 12

Hey!Whats is this your little fat paper bead!
The picture isn't 2 good, but I think you will get the idea!
    Want to do more?!
    Then carry on down....
    More fun....

  13. 13

I put some of this gold stuff from an old writing set I found in the draw, but you can color them with just about anything....
U can use Ruff and Buff or whatever see below, more stuff I found in the draw!

  14. 14

I like this color with the gold, it's been in the draw for ages and is nearly dried up.
Better use the other one up soon or I may have to find a use for old dried up paint?
    Mmmmmmmmmmm(thinkin now ya know)

  15. 15

Now give them a jacket of PVA glue, and I mean a jacket!
I fill in all the gaps with the glue to, I use it like using poli-filler!
If you like you can give them more than one coat!
I have been known to give my beads three coats!Time consuming, but very relaxing!
Now I have to wait for them 2 dry!
Better do some boring jobs....washing-up,hovering and bring in the washing from outside!

  16. 16

All dry and shinny well worth all that effort!(well I think so!all I got from my daughter was mmmmm they're okay!)
Well I love them! They are super hard (with all the paint and glue)They will last a long time to because the PVA glue has given them a hard shell.
I will make mine in2 a necklace which I already know is sold!To the local bar man Benji and I will also get free beer when I go line dancing on Monday night!
Sadly I can say I am a better paper beads maker than line dancer...but we all shine at something......
    LOL
