One interlocking template piece pdf included.
No glue or staples needed.

Paint is one of the quickest and easiest ways to craft. Many people don’t realize how quality of paint can improve a crafts look or turn it into a disaster. For my project I used Lumiere Acrylic paints which has the best coverage and choice of beautiful colors. This paint is now my favorite to use for all of painting crafts. Check out my project to see how well only one coat on leather works.

You Will Need (1 thing)

  • 1. Jacquard Lumiere Metallic Acrylic Paint 2. Leather-stiff (up-cycle and use a old coat, tall boots or buy new) 3. Brushes 4. Template (download) 5. Cardboard (to make reusable template and pour paint onto) 6. Pen or Pencil 7. heavy duty scissors (I used Milwaukee Jobsite Offset Scissors) 8. newspaper or drop cloth for painting 9. Optional: Fabric for lining or cut a plastic or paper bag to fit your basket.

Steps (7 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Gather supplies. I used paint colors
    #551 Pewter
    #570 Pearlescent Blue
    #544 Crimson

  2. 2

Print Template at 100%. Trace template onto cardboard and cut out including two center lines.

  3. 3

Layout leather right side down. Lay template on leather and trace around all edges and the 2 center cut lines on wrong side.

  4. 4

Layout newspaper or drop cloth with all leather pieces right side facing up. Pour paint onto cardboard or dip brush directly in paint jar and brush paint onto right side of leather pieces and let dry for 24 hours.

  5. 5

Time to connect modular pieces as shown in photos. Fold together "T" edges and slip into middle slots. Note: The bottom corners pieces can be a bit tricky but take your time and play with different placements.

  6. 6

Optional step if lining basket. Measure your basket and sew fabric lining to those dimensions. Hem upper edges

  7. 7

Now your finished and your basket is ready to use!
