because they're so much cuter!
Padded hangers look so much nicer and don't leave marks or anything on your clothes!! (Plus DIY is SOOO much cheaper than buying them!!)

You need:
spare hangers (I used plastic shop hangers)...don't use wire ones.
some fabric
wadding or cotton wool
needle and thread
pen/pencil/tailors chalk

  • Step 1

Lay a hanger on the reverse side of your fabric and draw around the hanger, leaving roughly an inch all around.

  • Step 2

Cut out the fabric and use it as a template for the other side. Cut out.

  • Step 3

(Ok this is how I did this. You may prefer to stuff it afterwards...if so, continue to the next step)

Wrap the wadding or cotton wool around the hanger. To keep it secure, I wrapped some thread around it.

  • Step 4

Put the fabric around the hanger and tack it, with edges folded in.

Straight stitch around the edge and tada!!

    You are done!!!
