nggaaa … still can’t find my notes … but here’s a preview of the coin purse tutorial i was blabbing about … it’s about 7cm wide/tall … sewn from a thai fabric called ” pa-ka-ma ” ( or ” pa-khao-ma ” ) … people from the rural areas ( or maybe the older people in the city ) use this fabric as a sarong/belt/head wrap/hammock/babysling/ you-name-it … annnddd … i’ve rewritten the tutorial … not very detailed …here it goes :

Instructions

  1. Small 15318

You’ll need two piecess of fabric ( 37 cm x 9 cm ) . I cut a piece from the middle of the ‘ pakama ‘ fabric and one from the ends.

  2. Small 15319

With the front sides facing each other , sew along the edges leaving a tiny gap ( about 1 cm ) in the middle on one of the short side and another on the side ( about 5 cm ). The second gap is where you flip the coin purse inside out.

  3. Small 15320

After you flip the whole thing inside out , stuff it with some polyester filling. Push them in with a chopsitck( remember to push all four corners out ) . Don’t over fill, or you won’t be able to bend the tube into place.

  4. Small 15322

Fold one end up, this will be the outer pocket . Sew the sides up . I folded the end that have the 2nd gap , so i can just sew the gap and the pocket into place at one time.

  5. Small 15321

Now fold the tube backwards, leaving about 1.5-2cm on top. Sew from the bend to where the outer pocket meets. This will be the inner pocket .

  6. Small 15323

Hold the ends of a piece of cord together , thread the middle part thru a charm, loop it to keep it in place . Tie the open end of the cord up , push it into the tiny gap on top of the coin purse and sew the gap up .

  7. Small 15324

Now put in some coins and wrap it up !
