About

Easy to make this ouija board necklace...make it as big as you like.
This one is 1 inch x 1.5 inches and I attached it to a chunky black chain.
Use the same technique for any other picture if ouija boards are not your thing.....

You Will Need (6 things)

  • Inkjet Printer
  • Thick Card
  • black Polymer Clay
  • 2 black Wire
  • 14 in black Chain
  • 1 in black Toggle Clasp

Steps (10 steps, 80 minutes)

  1. 1

First, print out a picture of the ouija board, and glue onto thick card.
Give a light spray of Humbrol "just spray" acrylic varnish, or similar, to protect the surface.
Cut round shape with a sharp craft knife.

  2. 2

Roll out some black polymer clay to about 3mm ( one eighth inch) thick, make it larger than the ouija board picture.
Place on an old glass plate or flat ceramic tile....this will be going into the oven!

  3. 3

Place ouija board on top and press gently into clay....press evenly with a flat surface like the bottom of a glass, to avoid bending the picture.

  4. 4

Trim all round leaving approx. 3mm border

  5. 5

Bend the border of clay up around the picture...no tools required, just smooth with your fingers!

  6. 6

Next take two pieces of black wire, each 1 long...I didn't have any black wire left, so I cut a black headpin in half!
Bend into loop shape as shown.
Do this with the clay/picture still placed flat on the plate or tile.

  7. 7

Insert the loops into the clay just below the picture board, one at eack top corner...these will be used to attach the chain.
Using little scraps of clay, fill in holes around wire, pressing and smoothing the clay with a toothpick

  8. 8

When the holes are filled in and smoothed, put in oven at 130degrees C for 30 minutes...take care not to make any hotter or the picture will scorch.
Bake on the plate or tile you have formed it on, because if you try to lift it off, it will get all out of shape!
When cool, gently prise away from the tile with a craft knife or similar.

  9. 9

Cut two pieces black chain 7" each.Attach to loops and fit on black toggle clasp....you can use ant other type of fastening you have, but I use these for easiness!

  10. 10

You can give your necklace another coat of varnish, if you like.
    That's it, ready to wear!
