very easy way to turn real leafes into transparent one (because the chlorofile is all gone). colourable and very nice for home made decos :D this makes a perfect organic scrapbook material, or any other paper art form. you can also simply decorate, color or laminate them for bookmarks! Several types of leaf would probably work as well, especially the ones with thick skeletons but so far I find soursop and maple works best :)

very easy way to turn real leafes into transparent one (because the chlorofile is all gone). colourable and very nice for home made decos :D this makes a perfect organic scrapbook material, or any other paper art form. you can also simply decorate, color or laminate them for bookmarks! Several types of leaf would probably work as well, especially the ones with thick skeletons but so far I find soursop and maple works best :)

Instructions

  1. pick up some soursop leaves, clean them with water carefully. you can also choose maple leaves.

  2. prepare the fishpond mud, put them in the pail and make sure the mud is not too thick and have enough water to soak the leaves gently. PS. I think any mud is fine, as long as it's not too thick (coz it will rot the leaves) but the best I found is the mud from fish pond :)

  3. dip each leaves gently one by one. make space around 1-2 cm to each leaves. don't put one leaf on another.

  4. close the pail and leave them for around two weeks. it may take quite a long time to let the chlorofile out and leave only the leaf bones. but after two long weeks, you'll get a pretty transparent leaves, ready to use for your project! organic leafes are especially gorgeous for home decos

  5. if you want them colored, after they're done (transparent already) dip them in water mixed with fabric dye liquid/powder (don't need too much, just put the mix liquid in small bowl and wait for around 10-15 mins and redry the leaves)

now your organic leafes are ready to use for your art project! mine is like in the pic :) (coffee bottle contains: upper: real dragonfly-dried, leaf art flower, clay bottom base: beach sand, sea shells, selfmade blue snow-from dried residu coconut flakes)
