I'm always looking for simply ways to display my small necklace collection so I can see all of them at once and get them down easily. I came up with this simple, modern rack with pops of ombre color on the pegs as a solution. You only need some craft wood and a few other supplies.

Gather your supplies, You will need a long piece of wood for the back (I used balsa wood from AC Moore), dowel sawed into 1.5" pieces, strong glue that adheres wood, craft paint in a lighter and darker hue, white craft paint to mix fading colors, wood stain, cheesecloth to wipe stain on with, and paintbrushes. Go ahead and mix your fading colors.
Paint each of one of your pegs in one of your hues. Let dry.
Apply stain to back piece and wipe on with cheesecloth. Repeat until the whole piece is stained.
Line your pegs along the board where you want them and mark their places with a marker. Glue them down and let dry.
When everything is dry, hang rack up. I used command strips.
