I used this a way to keep kids entertained for hours. By simply heating up water at a warm temperature and dolloping oil onto the waters surface, the bubbles had the oil moving around in weird patterns. To add even more excitement, I mixed food colouring with the oil before I put it in the water to make interesting patterns that look like glass pebbles.
