Every year I crochet theme hat for the babies in the nicu but this year I wanted to make them their first costume so I crocheted baby super hero capes small enough to cover their tiny bodies but not too big to overwhelm them. I left them blank this way their families can decorate them however they like.

Ch 17 Row 1- hdc in each chain (16), ch & turn Row 2- hdc in each (16), ch & turn Row 3- hdc inc, hdc in each, in last st do hdc inc (18) ch & turn Row 4- hdc in each (18), ch & turn Row 5- hdc inc, hdc in each, in last st do hdc inc (20), ch & turn Row 6- hdc in each (20), ch & turn Row 7- hdc in each (20), ch & turn Row 8- hdc inc, hdc in each, in last st do hdc inc (22), ch & turn Row 9- hdc in each (22), ch & turn Row 10- hdc in each (22), ch & turn Row 11- hdc in each (22), ch & turn Row 12- hdc inc, hdc in each, in last st do hdc inc (24), ch & turn Row 13- hdc in each (24), ch & turn Row 14- hdc in each (24), ch & turn Row 15- hdc in each (24), ch & turn Row 16- hdc inc, hdc in each, in last st do hdc inc (26), ch & turn Row 17- hdc in each (26), ch & turn Row 18- hdc in each (26), ch & turn Row 19- hdc in each (26), ch & turn Row 20- hdc in each (26), fasten off and weave in end
And done This way the families have fun designing their own heros So they know it doesn’t have to be all that bad in the nicu during the holidays.
