From trash to treasure, a beautful dress made from newspaper!
Alright, alright, I know when you hear dress you automatically assume it will be on a girl. That what I assumed too when I signed up for this contest. I was apparently wrong. This dress was constructed for a contest for relay for life. The rules: it could only be made for newspaper and tape, it had to be made in two hours, and (to my surprise and distaste) if you're making a girl outfit, it has to go on a boy and a boy's goes on a girl... the reasoning "for fun!" So please, do what I did and image the model is a very ugly girl. Now with explanations out of the way, this is the dress I made, and I am very please with it. Some little things that I would have like to change, but when you're in a time crunch, what can you do? Questions, comments, complaints, or whatever I welcome, so please don't hold back! PS. The really pale freak in the last two pictures is me, please ignore.

J&O Fabrics (www.jofabrics.com)is having a 'Pretty in Pink Handcrafted Prom Dress" Contest currently running that can earn you a $50 Amex Gift Card to spend as you wish, wherever you wish. Last day to enter a pic is JUNE 13TH, 2010. Don't think they are judging on the model, but they certainly are judging on originality! If you get this in time, You should go for it.

Thanks again for the new comments! And I saw your skirt Heather, I actually spent sometime studying for inspiration and just to see what other people had done with a project such as this.
