    Step 2

Grab a piece of newspaper and cut it into inch wide strips against the grain. Cutting against the grain help keep the yarn from breaking while spinning.

    Step 3

Tie a piece of about 10 inch long yarn onto your spindle. After tying on the yarn spin it clock wise a few times.

  • Step 4

Twist part of a strip of newspaper and tie it onto the end of the string.

Hook the newspaper to the spindle hook. start spinning the spindle counter clockwise this will spin the paper.

    Step 6

Once at the end of your strip of newspaper leave about two inches of paper un-twisted. Grab another strip of newspaper and hold it on top of the two inches of untwisted paper. Start spinning again.

    Step 7

When the string gets to long un-hook it from the hook and wrap it around the stick part of the spindle this keeps it from over twisting which causes the paper to snap.

  • Step 8

    TIPS:
•If the paper rips when spinning as long as it isn’t a large rip you can keep spinning. If the paper completely snaps in half untwist till you have two inches on the end then add more paper.
•When adding another strip of paper you can fold the end of the new one in half. This helps keep the join skinnier and less noticeable.

I have knitted with it although it is somewhat difficult. You could also use it in card making as some sort of embellishment . I'm sure there are many different uses for it.
