  • How to make a baby hat. New Born Baby Hats - Step 1
    Step 1

First I made a pattern from paper. Then pinned it to the fabric and cut it out.

I folded the fabric so that I cut out two pieces like this.

Then I cut out some cute cat-like ears! :3

    (and yes, that's my school folder...sorry ^^;)

    Step 4

I placed the ear in the inside of the hat, facing inward.
When everything is done and you flip the finished hat right-side-in, the ears will be facing outward. (If that made any sense).

    Next I pinned the ears.

I didn't really need to pin the rest of the hat since it's fleece material; it stayed put on its own.

Then I started sewing! It was pretty easy, just sew all the way around (except at the opening of the hat, of course).

    Step 7

I back-stitched the hat that way there's no way it could fall apart.

    Step 8

When you're done sewing and you've flipped the hat right-side-in, this is what it'll look like!

Oh, and I cuffed the hat at the bottom too (as you can see).

    Ta Da!! :D
