I have sprayed my yard w/ vinegar... it has worked by keeping them spiders away... usually i sprayed the back yard (where i have my dogs) and so far... great results.... :) hope this info can help
* also try vinegar+soap (powder soap) works pretty good as well (for spiders and ants)
