About

Its a family tradition that me and my dad dye the eggs for Easter this way.My dads mother used to do this,so when she passed away me and my dad are carrying the tradition on.
Its very easy, cheap and looks beautiful.

You Will Need (5 things)

  • Egg(s)
  • Onion(s) skin
  • Nylons
  • Leaf
  • Scissors

Steps (8 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Gather the things you will need. The leafs we collect around the house. Its more fun with different shapes and sizes of leafs.
Cut the legs of the nylons. You will only need the leg parts.

  2. 2

put a leaf on the egg.

  3. 3

Cut a square from the nylon and wrap it around the egg to cover it up.Pull it to be tight and tie a knob on the end with floss.
    Like my dad shows.:)

  4. 4

Do this with all the eggs.
    We made 4O.:)

  5. 5

Now put the onionskin in a large pot.
We used the skin of half kilos of onions. But you need less if you dye less eggs.

  6. 6

Now put the eggs on the onionskin and fill the pot with water, just until it covers the eggs.

  7. 7

After the water boils cook the eggs for 8-1O minutes.
Get the eggs out and cut the nylons off.Be sure to do that when they are still hot so the leafs will come off easy.

  8. 8

To make your eggs pretty and shiny, grease your hands (you can use oil too) and rub the eggs.

    Your done.Hope you like it!:)
