Create this Mother of Pearl design for a summer spent at the beach! alternate colors in each step to further customize your shell design! Tools you need: makeup sponge and needle brush Polish you need: white, cream or pearl polish, light purple, dark purple, blue, mint green, light green, white or yellow, black, base and top coat
Paint your nails with an off white, cream or white pearl base color
Sponge in light purple in random spots, variation adds an organic feel
Sponge dark purple near light purple for quick gradient
Sponge mint or lightest green in areas,slightly overlapping the purple sections.
Using needle brush create random shapes using your lightest green, also overlapping mint
Use needle brush and make small specks using your bright blue.
begin mapping out shell crack pattern with black and your needle brush in random squiggles.
Continue mapping, making both open and closed irregular shapes.
continue pattern over the whole nails. The design should resemble that of a topographic map.
Using your needle brush, blend in around the black lines with yellow or white, and the colors previously sponged. Finish with top coat!
