Dangerous at all times?
Well, here I am again....bet you are fed up of me some arn't you?
I was gonna change my name 2 Dangerous When Bored....but I don't have to be bored 2 be that! Ask my poor suffering son Aaron!(not really!).
I have been at the plastic again! With HELP! Some1 from the Indestructible web-site said I should post my plastic bottle beads 4 there comp but it was outta date or something anyway seen this web-site about making pet bottles into bowls and stuff so had ago myself!
It was quite hard cos the plastic kept rolling up! But I carried on trying!Failed in some areas, but mostly did okay!
Coloured the plastic with Sharpies b4 shrinking and made holes with a paper punch.Made my own fastening 2 from a paper clip!

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 1
    Step 1

The internet can be a bad thing? A good thing or in my case REALLY REALLY DANGEROUS!
Who for? Well my son Aaron having to wait for his tea, the cat waiting to be fed and the dog waiting for a walk!
AND MY RECYCLING BIN....ALONG WITH PLASTIC BOTTLES!
Anyway here I go turning PETS 2 TREASURE!(not the furry kind)

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 2
    Step 2

Here are all the things you will need to get started, I forgot to say get some scissors in the list to cut the bottles with! But I know you all have common sense out there anyway even if I don't!
    1 Recyclable Bottle
Scissors (did 4 get them here)
    Pliers
    Sharpies in all colours
Coin or button (to draw round)
    Hole Punch
    Heat Gun
(Long finger nails and worn in hands help 2 cost they get HOT)

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 3
    Step 3

Wash out the bottle...if you don't it smell sickly sweet when you're heating it up!
Then cut up to manageable pieces with the scissors.

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 4
    Step 4

Draw around a coin/button or a disc of your choosing, don't go to small or you'll end up with a blob!
You could also do oblong if you like but they curl up very quickly!
    STICK TO CIRCLES!

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 5
    Step 5

Colour in the circles to whatever colour you want!Leave them plain, or mix the colour 2gether.
Leave them to dry or the colour will transfer to your fingers.
Me I found something else to do...mop the kitchen floor after dog came in with mucky feet!

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 6
    Step 6

Once cut out I punched holes in them with my hole punch! To give them a different way of looking and so that I could link them 2gether!Because once they shrink there's no way your gonna make a hole in them without using heat again! (Hot needle maybe?)

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 7
    Step 7

Here are loads ready for shrinking! I am going have a cuppa because this is a very stressful part (not really)but I need a cuppa......

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 8
    Step 8

Get a good working area, I used my old craft mat,I have loads! At one time everyone in the family bought them for me! They don't half get used in our house!
Anyway while you are heat up the discs hold them down so they don't curl up! REALLY PRESS HARD at this point!
So unlike shrinky dink stuff these little babies don't want 2 flatten out at the end unless you fourse them 2!

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 9
    Step 9

Stick with it if they curl, heat them again and try flattenin them! They have a mind of their own these little discs!

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 10
    Step 10

Here are some of mine that just wouldn't go flat!I don't know y? but even I have failures and learn from it!
I deal with it in a positive way to by trying to work out if I did anything wrong?
They an't even a waste of time to me?just a blimp!

  • How to make a plastic bead. More Plastic Bottle Makes!?!? - Step 11
    Step 11

And here is the finished item! Yesterday I had only made a bracelet and put it on the site!
2Day I have done and HOW2 and made a necklace for you to look at!
AS I SAID B4 I can deal with FAILURE because look what I made outta something that was destine 4 the bin!
It also stopped me munching on sweeties and cakes....so I don't have 2 diet!
    HOW COOL IS THAT!
I MULTI-TASKED cos I did all the stuff around the house 2!
    NEED I SAY MORE!
    LOve

Sorry no a hairdryer doesn't work....beside blowing you're stuff away it doesn't get hot enough!
The kids bought me mine for my birthday a few years ago, I use it for all kinda stuff! Embossing my paper beads, plastic bottle beads and shrinky plastic, when I buy it! embossing my cards (stamping) So it is well worth investing in one,Studio Cards (if your in the UK do them at half price)
