I have missed halloween this year :(, and I had lots of lovely projects I was going to share. All I can plead is illness, and I have been rather ill, but thanks to the fiance I am on the mend again I think. Anyway, this little project came to me a while ago, but I haven't been well enough to complete it. It isn't necessarily just for halloween, it could well be used for monster themed parties, or even non-monster themed. You make them into animals, or aliens, or cowboys, or penguins and polar bears (for christmas) or, other things. Please excuse the limited supplies I had for this project, I haven't been able to get out of the house much recently to replenish my stocks and if you make this project then please, please make a version so I can see :).

Decide what you want your monster-bag to look like. This is a big help in the long run so you can gather up your materials. Take your box and your wrapping paper and place the box into the wrapping paper. Wrap the side and the end as you would normally do, but leave the other end open. Use double sided tape if you want to keep it really neat.
You then need to remove the box from the gift paper, but be careful, you don't want to rip it. You should end up with an empty, box-shaped wrapping paper shell, with no rips. You need to then fold the sides to get your bag shape. By fold I mean the two corners should fold together and the middle should fold in - like on a gift bag. I couldn't take a picture of this, it was impossible with only two hands.
Put your present inside, surrounded by pretty tissue paper, glitter, sequins or anything else you like...or nothing if you don't. Now you need to fold down the edge, twice would be good for neatness - that hides the jagged edge.
Using your hole punch make a hole in the middle of the bag under the folds you made. Then tie a loop of ribbon, wool or embroidery thread through the hole and to the top of the bag to hold it in place. Now had more of your ribbon/wool/thread to make some crazy monster hair. I used white ribbon.
Add your monsters features. I did a scary mouth with big scary monster teeth, scary silver eyes, feathered wings and pom-pom feet. I am so very sure you can do better than my poor attempt though.
