The Horror!
This is the first garment I have made. I followed the instructions in the book "The Party Dress Book: How to Sew the Best Dress in the Room" by Mary Adams. The only small issue i had was connecting the bodice to the skirt perfectly, so I made a wide elastic belt which completes the look.

@HotPinkCrayola- seriously get the book it was so helpful. It only have with patterns for 1 dress but it tells you like a million ways to customize it
