Cut a rectangle of tweed and lining fabric measuring 17" by 21".
Set up your sewing machine to stitch the monogram in a font you like. You can write a full name or just initials.
Stitch your monogram in the centre of the tweed rectangle about 3" from the top.
You can also stitch a decorative line above and below for added design.
Place the tweed on top of the lining fabric, with the wrong sides facing out and sew around the edges, leaving a small section on to top edge unstitched.
Fold the bag inside out, so that the right sides are facing out and gather your zip.
Pin your zip along the top edge of your bag and sew in place using the machine's zipper foot.
Pin the other edge of the bag to the zip and unzip the zipper before stitching in place.
Zip the zipper back up.
Fold the bag inside out and sew down both sides, at the points where either end of the zip meet.
Cut a two inch square from each corner of the bag.
Press the corners together diagonally and pin in place.
Sew along each corner.
Fold your bag inside out and fill with toiletries.
