You Will Need (3 things)

  • 50 yd Of Worsted Weight Yarn
  • Size 9 US straight and DPN’s *Needle size and yarn weight can vary. Larger needles and bulkier yarn will produce a larger mustache and vice versa.
  • Darning Needle

Steps (1 step, 60 minutes)

    CO 15 stitches.
    Row 1: Knit
    Row 2: Purl
    Row 3: Knit
    Row 4: Purl
    Row 5: Knit
    Row 6: Purl
    Row:7 K1, SSK, K to last 3 stitches, K2TOG, K1 Row 8: Purl
    Repeat rows 7 and 8 until 5 stitches remain. Next row: K1, sl st, K2TOG, PSSO, K1 Switch to DNP’s and begin knitting an i-cord for 7 rows. Bind off.
    You have now completed the first half of your mustache. Pick up and knit 15 stitches from your cast on row. Purl one row. Begin pattern as for first half starting with row 3.
    Once the second half of your mustache has been completed use your cast on yarn and gather mid-section of mustache, wrap yarn around the middle 3-4 times, secure and weave in ends.
