Start by cutting the jeans about 2/3 of the way up from the knees
They'll look like shorts
Unseam between the legs
Itll look like this
Keep unseaming up to this point
Fold seams so the 2 legs sit on top of each other like in the picture
Cut a square from one of the leftover legs
Square
Place underneath the front "triangle" of the skirt
Sew along the seams - I only had black thread, grey would have been a lot more suitable
Front of the skirt all sewed
On the back unseam to about this point
Legs will sit on top of each other like so
Tuck seams away and pin
And sew!
Back of skirt finished
If possible take another skirt and use a chalk to mark the desired length. Another option is to try the skirt on and mark the length required.
Cut to desired length
Tidy inside square by cutting around edge...
...to look like this
I like to go over the edges of the seams with the sewing machine to make sure the skirt doesnt fall apart, but this is up to you.
