This is so so easy to do (: ( Don't let the number of steps scare you , I just like being very detailed :P ) I got this idea when me & my boyfie did a matchbox switch , & I had lots of matches left . I decided to add a matchstick girl with the matchbox :D Please note that this one was made a little sloppy because I re-did to make this DIY (:

This is so so easy to do (: ( Don't let the number of steps scare you , I just like being very detailed :P ) I got this idea when me & my boyfie did a matchbox switch , & I had lots of matches left . I decided to add a matchstick girl with the matchbox :D Please note that this one was made a little sloppy because I re-did to make this DIY (:

Instructions

  1. Small bnw 016 1255090269

First you'll need wooden beads like those . To use as the head .

  2. Small bnw 017 1255090322

( Before I start ranting , Hi! Thanks for checking this out :D )

  3. Small bnw 018 1255090336

Matchsticks . You'll only be needing two (:

  4. Small bnw 019 1255090350

& yarn . To make hair . You don't have to . You could draw on the wooden bead if you don't want to use yarn .

  5. Small bnw 020 1255090377

Pick a lenght you think is suitable , and start folding it like such . Do it as many times as you want , according to how thick you want the hair to be . Please remember that you'll have to tie the middle part & that'll split it into two .

  6. Small bnw 021 1255090389

Tie the middle like this . Make sure the extra yarn used to tie the middle part is visible as you'll need to use it to put through the wooden bead .

  7. Small bnw 023 1255090400

Like this . The knot will ensure that the yarn gets stuck in the hole . Once that is done , cut the yarn ( hair ) to ensure it's straight and doesn't look odd .

  8. Small bnw 026 1255090441

It'll look like this . ( yes , I am aware the extra yarn is stick out of the hole . )

  9. Small bnw 027 1255090458

Glue to sides of the wooden bead where the yarn ( hair ) should be .

  10. Small bnw 028 1255090471

Then just push down the yarn onto the glue accordingly . Make sure you don't over-do the glue or else it won't look good .

  11. Small bnw 029 1255090506

Stick a matchstick into the bottom of the hole . The access yarn makes sure that it's tightly secured inside . You can also use glue before putting the matchstick in if you like .

  12. Small bnw 030 1255090519

Use another matchstick and see the lenght you want as the arms . When you are satified , cut it out .

  13. Small bnw 031 1255090549

Make sure it's not too short .

  14. Small bnw 032 1255090562

Then choose any ribbon you'd like to use as the dress for the matchdoll .

  15. Small bnw 033 1255090592

    Measure the lenght .

  16. Small bnw 034 1255090606

Fold it & the cut . That way the front & back of the dress is set .

  17. Small bnw 036 1255090656

Make a hole small enough for the matchstick body to go through in the middle when you've folded .

  18. Small bnw 037 1255090683

Then stick the other matchstick where you want the arms to be . Let it dry properly . It should be just nice for the ribbon ( dress ) to sit .

  19. Small bnw 038 1255090706

It'll look something like this .

  20. Small bnw 039 1255090736

Then just push the ribbon towards the center .

  21. Small bnw 040 1255090752

Then tie that part with a yarn . Wrap it around several times & tie it hard .

  22. Small bnw 041 1255090784

    It'll look like this (: ( Almost done! )

  23. Small bnw 042 1255090794

All you need to do now is draw on the face . Use markers , colour pencils , acrylic paint . Note : You can make them into little earrings , or as charms for bracelets , or stick them onto cards , or tree ornaments . The usage is endless . Enjoy! :D
