Description

This thing is a bit delicate to make but its easy as you continue to make more! I've made the first one for a trial, and added the latte art idea for the second one! They make cute little charms. adding small eyes and a little smile would make it even more kawaii!

Instructions

  1. Small 101463 2f2014 05 02 201240 img 20140502 151825

First, roll a small ball of fimo around 1,5-2 cm in diameter. roll a second ball which is much smaller for the cup holder and set aside for later.

Check your pen end, if its round enough and has a nice edge shape. Mine looks like this. Dust lightly with baby powder. This works as lubricator so it doesn't stick when you want to take out the clay out of the mold.

  3. Small 101463 2f2014 05 02 201343 img 20140502 151913

Press the dusted pen into the middle of the ball. Push gently from the bottom. Don't worry if its not even. We will trim it later.

After you got a nice shape, make sure the bottom is flat enough by pushing the pen gently against a flat surface, like a table. Cut the excess with a clay knife, cutter or needle. Smoothen the edges with your finger. Flatten the smaller ball into a cylinder and trim the ends to make the cup holder. Press gently to stick it, or use the help of the liquid fimo as glue.

Pour the liquid clay inside, to fill the cup. This will create the drink you want, and also to cover the part that looks like the mold. my mold isn't so pretty so I fill all my cups. You can also leave it empty and just bake the cup now. Use any color you like. I used green because I want to make green tea latte. I dip the needle inside the acrylic tube just to get the right amount. Dip the needle and swirl from the middle until the color dissolved with the liquid clay. This would take awhile so be patient and be careful. To create a latte art effect, take another needle and dip it into white acrylic paint. I made a simple heart latte. You can also do this with a brush after the cup is baked, but I prefer it this way. Dip the needle in the middle and swirl in a small circular motion, in the middle only. When it shapes like a clear circle, cut it in the middle. See heart latte art tutorial in youtube, I got pretty much the idea from there.

After baking, paint the glass (optional). I did this just because my clay is red. You can also decorate the cup with acrylic paint after baked and let it dry. I let the insides red and didn't paint it because I saw this kinda cups before and I love them. You can also add a jump ring on the teacup holder and connect it to a keychain or strap. Enjoy!
