Description

Made this for Christmas for my friend! Just got bored and started making little fortune tellers and it led to this!

Instructions

  1. Small dscn0370 1294006172

Make mini fortune teller! I didn't take pictures of this but there should be instructions somewhere on the internet! The paper I started with was 3 1/4 squares

  2. Small dscn0375 1294006272

Use glue to glue them in the fortune teller shape. I used paper clips to hold them in the shape while the glue was drying so I could fold more but it would work to just hold them while they dry.

Now we string them! Tie a first knot, slide one on (I poked holes in them with scissors). Tie another knot (make sure the knots are big enough that the fortune tellers won't slide around). leave a gap and repeat!

This is just a close up of how I tied the knots.

When you've made it as long as you want, take out your paint! I used silver spray paint meant for cars and stuff and leftover pink paint from painting my room. This brush was foam and good for splattering.

Lay out your drop cloth (or not if you like paint on the ground) and change into your painting clothes (or not). I did this at night in the freezing cold, not recommended! So just lay them out and spray paint them, wait a bit and flip them over and paint the other side.

Then flip them so the smooth side it up and splatter paint. I did it in a side to side motion to get the stripes. Then just let it dry (some of my drops were pretty big so I left it overnight). Hang and enjoy!
