I was inspired by the cardigan mentioned above, so I cut up two old sweaters (cutting off their sleeves and cutting them straight up the middle) then reattached the bodies along the backs and mixed the sleeves up. Then I added the trim on the front and buttons and voila, a cardigan! I'm a beginner seamstress so I marked this as taking 3 hours but I'm sure for more experienced sewers it would take much less time.
