This water bottle holder is quick to work up, and SO handy for hiking, day trips, festivals, anywhere! Uses only 1 ball of cotton yarn to work up, so the cost of materials (minus the hook) is about $2. Can't beat that!

You Will Need (2 things)

  • Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn
  • Crochet hook Size H

Steps (8 steps, 75 minutes)

  1. 1

    Ch 3
    Sl st to first ch
    Ch 2
    11 dc into ring
    Join to ch-2 w/ sl st
    (12 dc)

  2. 2

    Ch 2
    Dc into same st as ch 2
    2 dc into each st around
    Join to ch-2 w/ sl st
    (24 dc)

  3. 3

    Ch 2
    2 dc into next st
    * 1 dc into next st, 2 dc into next st*
    Rep from * to * around
    Join to ch-2 w/ sl st
    (36 dc)

  4. 4

    Ch 2
    * dc into BL only of next st *
    Rep from * to * until end
    Join to ch-2 w/ sl st

  5. 5

    Ch 2
    * dc into next st. *
    Rep from * to * until end
    Join to ch-2 w/ sl st

  6. 6

    6 – 14: Ch 4. Sk 1 st and dc into the next
    * Ch 1. Skip 1 st and dc into the next *
    Rep from * to * until 1 st remains
    Ch 1
    Sl st into Ch 3 of Ch 4 from beginning of round

  7. 7

    15 & 16: ch 1 (Place stitch marker if needed)
    Sc into same st as ch 1
    Sc in each stitch around
    Sl st into first sc from beginning of round
    Add more sc rows if desired

  8. 8

    Strap: Ch 2
    * dc into next 3 st, ch 2, turn *
    Repeat from * to * until desired
    strap length is reached.
    Flatten bottle holder with
    the strap in the middle.
    Fold strap over to find the st you
    will be going into on your “mirrored” side.
    Sl st strap to mirrored side.
    Sl st in each st around(including through the other
    side of the strap) until you get back
    to the beginning sl st.
    Sl st into next ST and fasten off.

    Weave in ends.
